Miss SDL 2008

MISS SDL IS NOW CLOSED FOR AUDITIONS
All auditons have been included. No more entries will be allowed in. Voting underway.

Miss SDL is the first beauty pageant OC tournament in SDL. Open to all FEMALE SDL OCs. No age limit. All entries in all rounds will be judged under the following criterias:

Art: 30%
Creativity: 30%
Poise: 15%
Personality: 35%

The pageant will start APRIL 1 2008


Audition Phase
Audition phase now open. All you need to do is make a 1 page pinup of your Female SDL OC in any attire you like. (Feudal Japanese, Modern Western, Stone Age, etc.) You can draw your SDL OC in any age as well, so if you have a young SDL OC, you can draw her as an adult or vice versa. The pinup can be full body or half body portraits. Background graphics is optional. Please, no nudity, hentai or any offensive themes. (See DA policy) Send me a note of your entry's thumb or link. Thank you.
Audition ends on MARCH 30.
Examples:

Round 1
The 32 participants will be asked to illustrate thier SDL OCs in the best kimono they can render. Only 15 will be chosen. Each will get 1 SDL rankups

Round 2
The 15 participants will be asked to illustrate thier SDL OCs in the best swimsuit they can render. Only 5 will be chosen. Each will get 1 SDL rankups

Final Round
The 5 participants will be asked to illustrate thier OCs in the best evening gown they can render. Each will also be assigned a random judge whom which will ask her a specific question unique to her. Her answer should be placed in the deviation description. The winner will be determined.

Good for you. I personally think the standards are nowhere near being high or elite. If someone can't follow the guidelines set, then that's their problem, not yours. You shouldn't concern yourself too much with it.

I don't know about others, but I look at it in such a way that it is US who want to be a part of this. This is your thing and you have the right to do what you want with it, and take it whichever direction you want it to go in.

And mostly, I'm just saying this because I can somewhat sympathize. xD Just for measly rules, tsk tsk.

Thanks man. I'm glad you think that way. These OC battles really gave me an artistic boost so i want ppl also to see this but in a less restricting way. But i guess we can never please everybody. Thanks again.

Well; why go into a club with set rules and then say you don't want to abide by them... It doesn't make sense

I'd love to put in a demonic character of mine, but considering there's none of that in this club; I made two new characters especially for SDL. And it worked out better for me that way; as even if they don't get accepted
(although I'm praying they do)
I can still use them in my own little story idea, so it works out either way
:D


Personally; I think the whole 'non-superpowers' rule gives it a whole unique-ness, and a whole new challenge for artists too.

xDDD Yeah, I saw the person complaining at someone else. I haven't gotten anything even resembling crap from SDL or anyone affiliated with it, so I know the fault can't be on your end. Geez, and I figured the rules were pretty easy to follow...D:
