Fiddled around with some designs and brainstormed with a few friends on the final out come.

SHOMYO ARENA: SDL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009 VENUE

This waterfall is based on Shomyo waterfall of Japan and made a lot of liberties with the design of the quarters for the audience and the port/reception area. The quarters on the wall of the waterfall will be were the VIPs of the tournament will be and the duelers participating will need to take a leisurely stroll across the tame river on to the stage/arena. The arena platform is surrounded by still water that is held by a dam made of wood logs. The whole river is not that deep, probably around 5 feet deep or so. We'll leave the rest to the artists to render. The artists will need to render the flags of the sponsor teams whether digitally or by hand.

NOTE:
The waterfall and river signifies the journey to purity of the duelers in participating in this tournament. It's a paralleled symbolism of how they were selected to participate in this tournament since it was all based on how they all pursued to duel more than others, purifying the roster in way as the finalists were separated from the rest of the duelers during the season. The still waters in around the arena helps the artists and duelers to remember that as you enter the arena, you will all attain inner peace whether you win or lose as it will be a proving ground of who you are. That's the thought behind the design and could be useful for the artists if they choose to use it.
