As a war orphan Nekura raised himself on the streets of Retsukawa city. Eating out of garbage cans, begging for money, finding a place to hide at night, sleeping in the dirt, in the dark alone. While begging on the streets he met Sensei Shari Hisomu. Hisomu took Nekura home, fed him and gave him a bath, a 2 set of clothes and a room which he had to Share with an older blind boy named Yamiji. Hisomu put him to work first thing the next day picking weeds from the garden and digging a hole for Hisomusamas new pond. Yamiji told Nekura if he worked hard and respected Hisomusama rules he could learn the arts.
Nekura and Yamiji became the best of friends and Hisomu began to train them together. Nekura at first was a stubborn student, Pig headed and cocky. Hisomu had a break through when he began to teach Nekura the art of the sword, he took to it like a fish to water. One day Hisomu went to the market but never returned home. Yamiji and Nekura went to look for him when the arrived there was quite a scene Magistrates every where, large crowd gathered

Yamiji and Nekura returned home and finished their masters sprawling, immaculate garden. After all these years, since child hood they worked to make it perfect and Hisomusama couldnt even be here to see it finished. That moment Yamiji and Nekura vowed a blood oath to find their masters murderer and enact his vengeance. Nekura and Yamiji found sponsors and entered the S.D.L. while following rumors that Hisomus killer is a contender in the fighting sport.
Nekuras fighting style Sainamu is a tactic of feign weakness, goading an adversary to throw tiring ineffective strikes thus wearing him out, while saving energy. When he sees his opponent is getting fatigued he begins his true offense. Dashing about with rapids blows and hard parries. Making an opponent track his every move. Wearing him out until the finishing blow is as easy as taking candy from a baby.
